Used for preparing water for Ebru (Marbling size)

Volume: 500 gr.

Packing: plastic bottle with a lid.
Volume of product enough for: 50-71.5 liters of water
Mixture ratio: 5-10 gr to 1 liter of water (depends on consistency required)

Preparation:
Measure carrageenan in the necessary proportions, mix it with warm drinking water (min. room temperature) and pour carrageenan into the water.  For the perfect result, you have to mix with a hand blender (not mixer). Mix well until particles disappear. If carrageenan solution still has particles you can use a filter. But it’s not recommended.
Wait for the bubbles disappear. If you are in rush you can clean the surface with paper. Don’t sweep paper on edge of mixing bowl. You can do this application over and over again till the bubbles disappear.
For perfect result rest your carrageenan solution for 12-24hr. in a cool place.
Before using, stir slowly and thoroughly, pour the solution into the tray.
You have to prepare carrageenan solution before preparing marbling painting because carrageenan solution will determine your paints proportion.
Finally, you have to clean creamy surface and a little dust which will be formed after the resting your solution, with paper. The solution is ready for marbling.
 
*Tip: After each break, this cleaning process must be repeated.
 
Please make sure before each drawing, no air bubbles can be seen on the surface
Approximate volume of solution required for the tray:
A4 - 1 liter
25х35 cm - 1-1. 5 liters.
35x50 cm - 3 liters.

Carrageenans are a family of linear sulfated polysaccharides that are extracted from red edible seaweeds (Irish moss). There are three main varieties of carrageenan, which differ in their degree of sulphation. Kappa-carrageenan has one sulfate group per disaccharide. Iota-carrageenan has two sulfates per disaccharide. Lambda carrageenan has three sulfates per disaccharide. Carrageenans are widely used in the food industry, for their gelling, thickening, and stabilizing properties. For many years Ebru artists are using carrageenan Ebru water (a.k.a. size)
